Through a network of collaborations with state and international institutions and agents, HAMACA generates programmes that focus on curatorial work, mediation, support for production and the study of the media. These programmes are articulated from the archive and its works in order to relate them to other artistic works and/or materials, to other languages, practices or discourses, to other times or other fields of knowledge.
Thus, the productions in the catalog are presented in cultural, educational or social contexts, contributing to the dialogue between video works and social environments, and highlighting the medium as a tool in the construction of collective imaginaries. HAMACA is committed to articulating a cultural proposal that is positioned and transparent in terms of its positions, and linked to the questions, problems and urgencies of the present.
In addition, the programmes include campaigns and activities to raise awareness of good practices and fair remuneration for artistic work, as well as ways to support the association itself and its projects.
HAMACA's programmes are lines of action financed by public funds and have a public vocation, which is why they prioritise access and production of interest for general audiences and social groups with particular dissidences, groups that tend to be overlooked or that need cultural mediation. Also for this reason, all the activities of the programs –with the exception of some workshops, which have a reduced price– are free of charge.
