Chema Alonso

Chema Alonso (Salamanca, 1968). Graduated in Fine Arts in the specialties of painting, design and audiovisuals (1994) by the University of Salamanca. He works indistinctly in the fields of painting, design, video and music, reconstructing and interrelating these disciplines. Active member of the artists collective La Voz de mi Madre until its dissolution; together with the artist Carlos Tmori he composes the collective Equipo Moral, which since 1991 carries out exhibitions of Live Cinema and video art productions; and member of the cultural association Elektronova, dedicated to the production and dissemination of electronic culture.

His video work focuses mainly on the choreographic relationship between image and sound, the aesthetics of error and its narrative possibilities, in which the questioning of identity and reality, media manipulation in perception and education, both individually and socially within an everyday context, are always present. His works have been shown at the Domus Artium 2002 (2004) in Salamanca, in the group exhibition Metrópolis 30 años en vanguardia or at the Punto y Raya Festival (2018).
