Fernando Baños-Fidalgo holds a PhD in Fine Arts from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and works as the Academic Director at the Escuela Universitaria de Artes TAI, in Madrid. His artistic practice has primarily developed in cinema and audiovisual arts, although he has also worked as an actor, composer, writer, and visual artist in various projects. His work explores the archive as a repository of the unknown and considers the image as a political and discursive tool. By activating archival material, he constructs narratives that critically revisit established discourses, imagining possible futures through a re-examination of the past.

Baños-Fidalgo has exhibited and screened his films at venues and festivals such as the El Escorial Summer Courses (UCM), Arts Santa Mónica (Barcelona), Galeria Nogueras Blanchard (Barcelona), the Gijón International Film Festival, Cinespaña in Toulouse, Seville European Film Festival, Espai d’Art Contemporani de Castelló, and the Centro de Arte 2 de Mayo (Madrid). In 2013, he premiered his first feature film, La Fotógrafa, co-produced with Catalan filmmaker Pere Portabella. His notable publications include El turista de la memoria (Complutense, 2010) and En cámara lenta (Notorious, 2015).
