Héctor Acuña

Frau Diamanda/Héctor Acuña is a translator, writer, transvestite audiovisual artist, musician, drag performer, independent curator, cultural infector, DJ and occasional actress. Her specialization is transgender art and multimedia performance. As a performer and video artist, she has collaborated with numerous international art and cultural centers, such as the Hemispheric Institute in New York, the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid, or the Cultural Center of Spain in Lima.

In 2020, she published Escenas catalanas: Errancias antropológico-sexuales (La Máquina, 2020), a pseudo-autobiographical story and multimedia project about the experience of the cruising environment in Barcelona from the double perspective of transvestite and migrant. She also works with photography, video, electronic music and multimedia platforms. She's interested in the (dis)encounters between bodies and architectures, as well as the ways of concatenating the fluidity of desire and the sexualization of spaces from a look of dissidence or transvestite sexual disobedience.
