Josu Rekalde


Josu Rekalde (Amorebieta-Bizkaia-1959) combines artistic production with his activities as professor at the Facultad de Bellas Artes of the Universidad del País Vasco. Although he is best known for his video and new technology pieces, his field of work is multidisciplinary. The subjects that he deals with go from intimism to the social relation, from the I to the Other, from the metaliguistic to the narrative.

He has exhibited and distributed his work in numerous places, among which the following can be distinguished: Museo de Bellas Artes, Bilbao (1995), Museo de Girona (1997), Espace des Arts de Tolouse (1998), Mappin Gallery, Sheffield (1998), Espace d´Art Contemporani, Castelló (2000), Centro La Panera, LLeida (2004), Goethe Institut, Roma (2004) or Espacio menos1, Madrid (2006).
