Enhebra el futuro con el susurro del pasado (Thread the future with the whisper of the past) is a research project on the relationship between plants and time. It begins by focusing on ferns, a (super)living organism that takes us back to a distant past and probably to a distant future, uncertain for us as humans. After the finest observation, the gaze is extended to the whole plant kingdom, especially around the concept of environmental and plant intelligence (plant-thinking). Inspired by authors such as Stefano Mancuso, Michael Marder, Emanuele Coccia, Daniel Chamovitz, Donna Haraway and Lynn Margulis, the video proposes a reading that interweaves a poetic text and images related to plants: a time-lapse (a tool already widely used for the study of the behavior and movements of plants), archive images, a recording of a kind of laboratory biome... Text and image merge in color, just as plants blend with their environment.
