The equipoMotor programme returns for its 25th–26th edition with a spectral, mutating atmosphere to pose the question: what if the Museum were ‘a bit more Frankenstein’? Drawing inspiration from that monster and all those creatures that challenge the norm from the margins, the cultural mediation project Galaxxia designs and curates an incisive, intergenerational and decentralising edition, where marginalised knowledge, strange bodies and disruptive desires intertwine to generate new forms of critical and radical imagination. In the Museum’s cellars and corridors—a unique laboratory—doubts are not hidden: they are raw material.

The programme is structured into four thematic blocks centred on the ‘freak’ as a methodology, cultural work, intergenerationality and institutional decentralisation. At the same time, each block will unfold across four types of sessions:

  •     Theoretical and aesthetic triggers, alongside visits to exhibitions and liminal spaces within the museum
  •     Workshops with guest artists
  •     Exercises in collective audiovisual curation centred on the Hamaca archive and radio reporting
  •     Public engagement events featuring screenings of works from the Hamaca archive and discussions with the general public, in collaboration with the museum’s Film and New Media Department.

The group of participants will therefore become a ‘temporarily autonomous audiovisual curatorial collective’, with a real ability to influence the museum’s programming and to open up equipoMotor’s dialogue to the general public. The boundaries between the minds that make decisions, the hands that produce, and the bodies and presences that inhabit the institution are challenged and expanded.
