The third curatorial project by the equipoMotor 25-26 has selected the film Salir del aula. Un día sin profes (Luz Broto Lema, 2017). This session views cinema as a space in which people can see themselves reflected: the group's participants wanted to choose a film that would allow the audience to get to know who they are and how they work together. From this simple gesture arises a question about the rules that govern an institution, about who decides how it is run, and about what happens when those rules are suspended. The film places conflict at the centre and proposes a clear catalyst: 'What if...?'. What if, for one day, there were no teachers? What kind of relationships, agreements or tensions would emerge? This opens up a reflection on the power structures present in spaces such as a secondary school, but also in other institutional settings, such as a museum.

The title of the session, Familias desviadas, captures another of the questions that run through equipoMotor's work: what happens when the traditional idea of family shifts and other ways of organising emotions emerge? Instead of a fixed or hierarchical structure, the group experiments with more circular, assembly-style and open forms of relationship, where decisions are taken collectively with room for different ages, backgrounds and ways of being.

The curation of this session itself follows this logic. The process has been collective, fragmentary and experimental, resembling a frankensteinian approach to organisation: gathering pieces, trying out combinations, discussing them as a group and reassembling them. A method that blends the serious with the playful, and the critical with the affectionate. Following the impulse suggested by the film, equipoMotor asks itself one final question that runs through the entire session: what if the museum could also be a little more Frankeinstein, more affectionate and more deviant?

This year's equipoMotor is coordinated by Galaxxia under the title Un poco más Frankenstein. It is a museum engagement and participation programme aimed at teenagers, young people and older adults who have taken part in previous editions of the museum's community projects.
