José Luis Tirado is a director and producer living in Sevilla. With the production company that he founded, ZAP PRODUCCIONES, he has completed a number of very interesting projects dealing with the idea of cultural diversity and the issues surrounding illegal immigration. He has produced two documentaries on the latter theme: Paralelo 36 [Parallel 36] and La liga de los olvidados [The league of the forgotten]. Both films coincide in content but differ in form, that is, in the way that they approach the subject matter. Paralelo 36 focusses on the Strait of Gibraltar, where many people try to reach a better world and many times find their death. In La liga de los olvidados football becomes a meeting ground, a site for communication and mutual support for those who have managed to enter, whether legally or illegally.
