In various underwater urban areas such as the Pont del Petroli (Badalona) and the breakwaters of the city of Barcelona, using apnoea and night diving, the marine biologist Claudio Barría and the artist Silvia Zayas began a specific search for stable colonies of electric rays (Torpedo torpedo species). While immersing themselves in these post-industrial scenarios, they wonder why, unlike other endangered stingrays in the Mediterranean, they "seem" to resist various types of pollution, including acoustic pollution. These rays are popularly known as "tremblers", because they will make you "shiver" if they give you a shock.

ê explores the tensions between different modes of underwater perception. The images appear between the human difficulty to perceive correctly underwater and a desire for somatic understanding of the almost unknown senses of some species of stingrays. Images sensitive to electromagnetic fields, flows, solar cycles, patterns and perception from hidden or liminal spaces? Stripes evoke analogies or traces, imagination and fictions, childish desires and misunderstandings. Camouflaged presences. Footprints abandoned in their wake after leaving their hiding places in the sand. The ability to confront you before fleeing. Their effective disappearance from almost every image.

ê is a somatic film of narrative holes, of bodies underwater trying to read signs, patterns and currents with reinvented attention, a film that provokes close listening and through visual rhythms, beats, clicks, impulses and sounds.
