In Teixidó’s La Sopa Básica (The basic soup) we were able to watch the artist take analog animation to its limits. For Trobat temps perdut, Teixidó indulges in a vast deployment of financial and other resources. Boasting great lucidity and technical mastery, the artist offers us a very particular reflection on the passage of time and its consequences.

The fact that the artist uses digital media in order to introduce us into a piece that is evidently pictorial, is definitely paradigmatic. If there is something which calls our attention in this work, it is the careful precision with which the shots and scenes have been created. These, albeit always filled with Teixidó’s particular sense of humour, refer us back to purely pictorial elements.

A series of situations, images and characters will unfold in front of our eyes. Although the manner in which these elements are presented is somewhat abrupt and disrupted, we will be gradually brought into an extremely personal poetics, whereby time is taken apart. Although it is a fact that neither Bergson nor Einstein have been particularly successful in explaining the functioning of time, we shouldn’t expect closed answers from this piece, which will suggestively offer us ideas and images with which to construct a possible interpretation of this phenomenon, that is, by definition, intangible.
